This sounds that your location is not ideal.
I do not know the reason for your trouble but I got rid of mine 2 years ago. I found its fruit was not to be good enough since I have Parfianka, Desertnyi, Ariana and they are better.

My Austin tree looks no different than any other variety I have, I don't think you can ID a tree unless you have a fruit.

My both Sverhranniy and MV have lots of lowers, nice!
If the Spring is dry, I may have a chance to show and compare the fruit. Both trees are growing on the same side of the house not far from each other, i.e., the conditions are exactly the same.
