Preferably right now or what it looks like without fruit on it.
I am interested in this cultivar but I would like some more information to help me identify it better.
I could get this locally, and while I want to give the seller the benefit of the doubt,
tags do occasionally get mixed up, sometimes intentionally or unintentionally,
and then someone grows that and sells it without knowing.
OR, someone could just take an existing cultivar they have and slap a new name on it just so they can sell it.
Like "Yup its an Austin, buy it if you want to know more about it."
If someone has some information about traits or growth patterns or leaf patterns or any information at all
that would be helpful in analyzing an Austin to determine if it is actually an Austin before I buy it, that would be appreciated.
I do find it fascinating that the legend is it was brought from Syria to Austin.
In Levins book, it was stated that there are 8 cultivars found in Syria, at least in 1921 it was documented there were.
I can't find information if the pomegranate from Syria brought to Austin was a pomegranate cultivar from Syria,
or if it was a pomegranate cultivar that didn't originate in Syria but the person was from Syria and brought it with them.
I am not seeing information about the origins of the pomegranate cultivar that was brought from Syria and then planted in Austin.
The reason I am interested in the Austin Pomegranate cultivar is because it is relatively close to my current location
and I am growing Bubba Desert Willows in my location, Bubba is from San Antonio which is close to Austin.
So I have speculations that it is possible this cultivar would do well in my current location.
Curiousity!
