Azadi review

This is my first Azadi and I wanted to share my thoughts about it.
It doesn’t look like a conventional pomegranate. It’s greenish to yellowish outside, the arils are plain white to transparent, seeds are soft (similar to Parfianka in hardness), quite juicy. The seeds are easy to remove. My fruit was on a smaller side from a tree growing in a large planter and it was ripe. I wanted to taste the fruit before moving the tree to the ground.

The taste: it’s just plain sweet, 0 acidity, like sugary water. The side effect of white arils is that you see all the blemishes and it doesn’t look very appetizing if the fruit is not perfect.
Sirenevyi is also sweet but it has some slight acidity and it’s arils are pink to red in color, they are more attractive.

I am surprised that people gave good reviews to Azadi. I guess if you like honey figs and very sugary stuff , you will like this one too. For me, it wasn’t my cup of tea, either visually or taste wise.

I may graft Azadi and keep it as a curiosity but I wouldn’t know what to do with 2-3 buckets of fruit when the tree is mature.

I like non-acidic that have some taste and not be “just sweet”. For example, Sirenevyi is sweet but with some additional flavors , like a pear.
But in general, it’s hard to eat many of them and they are not good for juicing. One way would be to mix non-acidic and acidic in a bowl and eat with a spoon or something.

How would you consume a bucket of plain sweet Poms??
