unknown pomegranate at Indian market

Post by SoCalnOlympia »

I tasted an excellent variety from an Indian market (I suspect it was an Indian variety, pretty sure it was not Parfianka, although similar in many ways). It had the most intense flavor, dark purple juice. The acidity was hard on my teeth and stomach (I mean to the point where I only felt like eating half the fruit at one time), but it didn't really taste incredibly tart.

You might possibly want to check out some of the Indian pomegranate varieties.

A good suggestion! Now is the time to do it. I have an Indian neighbor , will ask her too.
