I planted a Parfianka pomegranate in Olympia, WA (climate zone 8a, but far north in latitude) and it has survived through two winters and looks like it is doing well now. One of those winters was a much colder winter than usual, and it was buried under more than a foot of snow at one point.
It is planted in a warm sunny spot on the south facing side of the house, with a brick wall only a little more than 2 feet behind it.
I intentionally planted it there to give it the best chance of surviving, and hopefully try to increase its length of growing season, because the brick wall retains some heat and being up against the wall acts like a windbreak.
I also planted a 'Crimson Sky' hardy pomegranate, but Parfianka is what we might call "better eating quality", and I had read that Parfianka might be a little hardier than the other common pomegranate varieties, so I decided to put it to the test.
Still not too big and has not produced fruits yet.

Nice! In 8a, I don't image Parfianka will have any trouble surviving winters. Pictures of it?
