Negative. It's dead. Glad I had one backup tree at least.

I am not surprised at all, I had a pomegranate die to beneath the ground level before, and it started coming back out of the ground, directly from the roots in September. The roots of a pomegranate can actually be an underground clone of the pomegranate bush. I have learned this from personal experience.

Very interesting, thanks for sharing a photo. That looks like good strong growth. About when does it start to freeze in your area?

Generally we see freezing temps by the second week of November. That should give it enough time to grow some more and harden. This year I’ll protect it.

Update 11/06/2024:

End of season growth. As of 11/23/2024 all leaves are still vibrant green. I will be covering this in the coming weeks to protect it through the winter.
