My Poms are pushing new leaves already! Need to trim the trees asap, like within 2-3 days. What a crazy weather!

Same here in Central TX — zone 8b/9a ish. They’ve been leafing out for a couple weeks now and have several inches of new growth on them. The past few winters have been extremely cold for us, with lows of 6° in February 2021, a long duration freeze in January 2022, and a low of 14° in December 2022. There have been more nights below 20° the past three winters than if you combined every night that cold for my entire life up to 2021. Then, we had the major ice storm at the end of January this year — we weren’t cold at all (31°), but lots of damage to trees literally a century old or more….

This photo is my "Red Silk" from last Thursday and this pomegranate has flushed out quite a bit more since then. We’ve been up over 90° already this year and with lots of gorgeous days in the 80s, things are progressing fast!
