All the plants brought in at that same time from Turkmenistan are no longer available in the GRIN repository. So it's likely just a coincidence that one of the two that were said to be the same variety was removed.

It is the same Russian word but written with different spelling, it means Very Early. I think they have different numbers because they arrived at different times?

Each one was brought in to the USA by different people at different times. First the 'University of California' brought in 'Sverkhranniy', then the 'Boyce Thompson Southwestern Arboretum' brought in 'Sverhrannii' a little over 4 1/2 years later.

I picked another one today because the bottom of the hull near the calyx was starting to rot due to the excess rain. The arils were completely untouched and were far more red than my last photo. All I can say is Pinot Noir all the way. Excellent flavor!

Thank you! Let me tell you, the taste one month later was significantly deeper and more rich. A perfect blend of sweet and tart. Now if I can get these in a greenhouse and gain 2 extra months in my season they'll look as nice as yours haha
