Wow! That’s very interesting. Is your Parfianka significantly older than your others?
In Detroit my Parfianka is loaded with poms slightly bigger than golf balls. I’m hoping to get at least one that ripens this year. Our season goes until about November. The only other tree that produced this year was my Salavatski, this one has about 5 poms on it, one of them is a decent size. I’ll post pictures at harvest time
The first 3 trees I ever planted were a Wonderful, an Ambrosia and the Parfianka. So, I think that makes this season its 4th or 5th in the ground. The other 2, the Ambrosia and the Wonderful are same age but are not nearly as prolific or mature nearly as quickly. Maybe the Parfianka hit a buried cat.
I’d love to see all three if you don’t mind posting a picture here. My first three were Parfianka, Kazake, and Austin and I consider them all to be pretty prolific for 4 year trees in containers. For me Austin is the only one to produce a full sized fruit thus far. The squirrels ravaged my Parfianka last year before they could ripen. Kazake was pretty close but just a little undersized.
Have any of your trees produced full sized fruit yet?
I'll take some pictures tomorrow. The Parfianka has produced full-size fruit this and last year. The Ambrosia was close-ish last year, but the arils were far lighter than they should be. The wonderful is taking it's sweet-@$$ time. I have had huge bird problems with my figs and stone-fruit, but everything seems to leave the pomegranates alone, except for the leaf-footed bugs, but they can't really do anything unless the fruit cracks.
