My largest Desertnyi

Post by greenfig »

724 grams! It’s a monster!
The arils were huge and super tasty, sweet with a hint of tartness. The seeds were small so almost all was juice :)

Stunning! Is this size typical of Desertnyi that you've harvested in the past?

This size is "above average" after I did a good thinning earlier in the summer. Basically, fewer fruits == larger fruits.
What I discovered was that this mostly refers to the branches, to the entire tree (if the tree is large enough). You can thin one branch and have fewer but larger poms and leave other branches with more but smaller poms.
