Austin Pomegranate in Zone 6B

Today I picked my one and only Austin pomegranate from my three year old tree. This was my biggest pomegranate among all of my trees this season, it grew to 8.75 inches in diameter. The taste was a little on the tart side but it was a close balance between tart and sweet. I know others here have described Austin as being sweet with a slight hint of tart so I attribute the tartness to my tree still being young and only having a 5-6 month growing season. Next year fruit yield should significantly increase along with the fruit size and flavor profile. I'm chalking this up as a win for 6B.
