Regarding the #124 and #15 controversy I think it'll only play itself out when enough people request both directly from the NPGR and grow them out.OC CRFG still has access to NPGR scion but I fell asleep at the wheel and the request period is long gone.I've never seen these tree's,having not visited Winters, but several people who have claim they're growth characteristics are dissimilar.

Just as in the fig world sourcing is everything, more so in as leaf shape is no help.Given the fiasco that was the original Parfianka retail roll out I have no desire to purchase Pom's from the big box stores so everything I have is from CRFG members or Laguna Hills.

Regarding the sweeter Poms I've undergone a metamorphose in opinion regarding them once faced with an overwhelming deluge of various varieties.Initially I far preferred the more complex/acid forward varieties that develop flavor complexities later in the season. The problem there is "the later in the season"issue. They really don't reach peak flavor until about now. While they've been hanging and gaining complexity they've begun cracking, exposing the arils to fungi, birds and leaf footed bugs.Once they open up I've got 24-36 hours to get them off the tree before they're at minimum partially spoiled.I'd guess I bring in 25% at "peak" flavor if lucky. The sweeter varieties ripen earlier, avoiding those issues, and I find them very pleasant and refreshing. The earliest this year was Fleishmans which was eatable in early August and high quality in late August when the Parf/Ariana/KK were a distant glimmer. The children (of course) prefer the sweeter ones and most are white or rose so can be eaten on the spot without the severe staining issues which drives the parents nuts.Having done a number of these tastings in small groups it's obvious taste is clearly personable subjective the caveat being when the tasting was done.

Is there a tutorial here on how to post photo's?

My Parfianka is a very nice strain, I can send you any number of cuttings. I think it’s the best I’ve tested.

About splitting: my Poms almost don’t split but my neighbors do. I think it’s a matter is watering schedule plus the amount of sun.
