Sin Pepe, Medovyi Vahsha, or Myatadzhy Pomegranates

Post by crademan »

It is fun to plant new pomegranate varieties, but there is only so much room in our yards. This University of California Davis Pomegranate Cultivar Table helps me research pomegranates before selecting new ones so that I can grow pom types that have the qualities I like. http://fruitandnuteducation.ucdavis.edu ... var_Table/

There are 3 soft-seeded poms on this chart that I have not yet found in central Arizona. Does anyone know of a source for Sin Pepe, Medovyi Vahsha, or Myatadzhy pomegranates?

I have a Sin Pepe. It grows nicely but hasn’t fruited yet. A Myatadzhy I grafted last Spring and it took well. I had a Medovyi V. too but changed my mind. I got the cuttings from UCD.

Green Sea Farms had all 3 of those available the last time they (Cindy) sent me an inventory list...though looking at it now that was last year. Suggest contacting them directly, my recollection is that they had a bunch of varieties available that were not reflected on their website.

Guess I should add that I'm currently growing Medovyi Vahsha and Myatadzhy (from Green Sea Farms) but neither have fruited for me yet - they're a couple years old.

Thanks @greenfig. A friend in Mesa, AZ may have Sin Pepe scions available next January. If not, may I PM you then?

Thanks for sharing the info about Green Sea Farms, @Blake. I'll contact them to ask about the availability of these pomegranate cultivars.
