Yes, I think it would be wise to split the experiment between a few locations - the more data the better, and I'm afraid at the moment I'm limited to just two plantings to trial

I found a person in 8a zone, so we will test in 2 different locations!

North Alabama Zone 7B ready for service. I recently bought some Russian 26 on clearance at a local nursery and attempted a graft on crape myrtle. It's not soft-seeded, but I have the parent plants in ground in a similar setting so I'll be able to see how crape myrtle does as a rootstock in general.
