Re: New Member With a Slight Conundrum
Where are you located? I know a community food forest near here had an Angel Red that died, but I'm not sure why - it's just notated on their map. I mentally crossed that one off my list based on that and various sources online saying it was good in zone 8 and above. I might have to put that back on ...

Re: 2022 growing season goals
I actually did try this method, but I couldn't find the lid to my container, so I wrapped it in saran wrap. I struggled with keeping the humidity right so they basically went back and forth between moldy and dry. I might try it again in the future with some spare cuttings and a lid to see if that ...

Re: Al Sirin Nar experiences?
I saw that study too and had actually just placed my order with Planting Justice and had Al-Sirin-Nar in my order. Given the summer humidity here in southern MD and the devastating fungal rot reported by a grower in VA, I reached out and asked Planting Justice to change my order to swap that one for ...

Re: 2022 growing season goals
pombazaar what time of year are you rooting cuttings outside? What temperatures? I have several dozen cuttings I've started at various times and have been having a constant struggle with humidity using plastic bags over the cups. Things get too wet they start to mold, then I remove the bags to dry ...

Re: New Member With a Slight Conundrum
Sorry I missed notifications for these replies. I ended up keeping them inside until this past weekend when I planted them as it was looking like we were warming up quickly and the extended forecast was all lows above 40.
Anyway, of course the forecast has shifted dramatically and we may get into ...

Re: New Member With a Slight Conundrum
Thanks very much for your response! It looks like we normally see our last frost by mid to late April. Right now our lows are kind of all over the place. Low 20s to upper 40s.

New Member With a Slight Conundrum
Hi everyone,
I'm in 7b, southern MD, and I've become obsessed with the idea of growing pomegranates. I'll get into more about all the ideas and plans I've been working on and I have lots of questions, but for now I have a situation I could use some thoughts on.
