Re: Gondhoraj lemon
It died after it's first year unfortunately. I will try to get in touch with the fellow who sold this to me and see if he still has any. Check your inbox.

Re: Testing Belbek in Ground Zone 6A
Update 4/15/2024: Top growth appears to be completely dead. I also did a scratch test at the very bottom and that too didn't show any signs of life. So the whole tree is likely dead at least to root. Unfortunately this means that Belbek is not a suitable in ground option for Michigan. I was hopeful ...

Re: Testing Belbek in Ground Zone 6A
Thanks for the info! I'll hold off on cutting it back in the event it doesn't start to break bud immediately. Will post another update soon.

Re: Testing Belbek in Ground Zone 6A
Update 4/6/2024: Other trees and plants are starting to break bud all around the house. So far nothing on this Belbek though. I inspected it today and can't tell how far down the loss goes. Hoping for the best but preparing for major loss.

Re: Testing Belbek in Ground Zone 6A
We've been having really odd weather patterns lately, especially for February. Several days reaching around 70F then going down to the 30s days later. I did a scratch test earlier this week and saw green so I'm remaining hopeful. It's not unusual to see frost in Michigan during April...so we still h...

Re: Olive trees in the Pacific Northwest - advice???
I'm pretty sure these are 90s era but new in the sense compared to OLEA 26801-26811. DOLE 182 and DOLE 183 are both in the UCD repository.

Re: Water rooting - attempt #1
I should really update my former post about this. This method does work but will yield poor results. Poor results meaning a higher chance of mold and weak brittle roots that will need to re-stabilize once transferred to soil. Indoor rooted cuttings also seem to be more likely to be damaged by sunbur...

Re: Olive trees in the Pacific Northwest - advice???
I was re-reading through this post and remember reading on some newer cultivars from Ukraine that may interest you. These may be some accessions to consider and are said to be cold resistant. DOLE 182 / Nikitskaya #1 - Per Bellini et al, this is a local cultivar from Crimea. It is part of a breeding...

Re: Adding two new early poms - any advice?
Not sure how much this will help but was one of the few articles I could find online that didn't come from a generic site trying to sell you a MV pomegranate: https://fruitsandgardening.blogspot.com/2016/10/tasting-pomegranates-eversweet.html I found this quote to be interesting: Very sweet, soft-se...

Re: Adding two new early poms - any advice?
As we say here locally, "It's a disease" lol. I have both but are extremely small. Medovyi Vasha, I recall being the smaller of the two when I was pulling tags for inventory during late fall. My issue is that I just haven't had the time to up-pot. Every source I've found suggests that MV i...
