Even photos of a ripe fruit would help. Not much I could find online.

I know very little is actually known about this cultivar and only a handful of nurseries carry it. It was selected by John Chater and is a medium to large sized pomegranate with average to sweet taste and hard seeds. They have a green hull hence the name and are known to split.

I don't think it will do too well in my zone but I'm taking a jab at rooting it this spring.

Thanks! I was thinking to root/graft one but after reading that it’s mostly sweet and with hard seeds, I changed my mind. You cannot use its juice (will be like sugar water) and eating fresh is no fun ether. I think there are better varieties out there. Let me know if you like it, there is always a branch out there to be grafted

Do you consider all sweet varieties are not good for juicing? I've never really tasted a sweet pomegranate. I'll do that! Worst case scenario I use it as rootstock lol

They are not bad, just taste like sugar water, no acidity.
Imagine watermelon juice vs. apple juice or orange or something like that.

I guess that depends on what you mean by 'sweet variety', there are sweet varieties with flavor and with acidity.

I'm also looking for green globe and dpun 083. Where can I get cuttings from besides the ars grin? What nursery has them? I've seen green globe on the bonita creek website, but I'm not sure if they're defunct.

I may have some extra DPUN 083 cuttings. I will look and see in a few weeks when I bring my plants outside. There are only a few reports on DPUN 083. DPUN 082 / Sin Pepe / Pink Ice is similar but produces more superior fruit. What sparked your interest in DPUN 083?

I'm concentrating on collecting pomegranates of various colors and am trying to find green when ripe pomegranates. On the ARS GRIN website it is mentioned that they are greenish yellow with a pink blush. This is why I'm also looking for Green Globe. I know that there is one that you can eat green before it's fully ripe but I don't remember the variety.
