Very early and soft seeded that is what I like about it. It may extend my season since I have mid- and late season varieties already but not early (September) poms.I know it’s a patented variety, I was looking to purchase a tree but couldn’t find one.

Yes! Soft seeded and very early are two things I want in my orchard haha. I also like the idea of extending my seasons by diversification. I do this with my figs and get fruit until late October and sometimes into November

I wonder if Emek is sold at nurseries in Israel or if it was patented for commercial use. I'm thinking probably the latter. There is a commercial grower in California that grows this variety; Trinity Fruit Company.

Sverkhranniy may also be of interest to you, if you do not have one yet. It's one of the earliest varieties, soft-seeded, and sweet.

I planted a Sverhranniy last year, it grew good 5 feet this season
I haven’t taste it though so I don’t know anything about the variety. It grows very well.
I know the Israeli varieties are popular in Europe and South America. Not sure if it was patented for commercial growers only but the internet search returned a lot of pages outside the US.
I wrote an email to Trinity with an intention of buying fruit to taste but they have not responded.

Wow! I wish mine grew that fast, that's amazing! If you end up getting some fruit from Trinity, I would love to know how it compares to other varieties.

Maybe try emailing Dr. Doron Holland who owns the patent and see how you go about purchasing a tree in the US?
