First ripe Parfianka: Aug 31!

What a weird year, usually they are ripe in October. This year the tree flowered much earlier and today I picked up the first ripe Parfianka! It was large and very sweet :)
Good news : more to come (many more since it’s very productive)
I even collected a few cuttings as a result of a correctional trimming

Parfianka is the most productive tree for me this year. Yours looks amazing! I hope mine ripens that much here in Detroit lol

Say, how soft are the seeds on these? I've heard that fully ripe Parfianka practically has no noticeable seeds. What was your experience? If you can please post pictures of the fruit. I'd love to see!

Yes, the kernels are very soft, we just eat them like sunflower seeds. The photo is in my avatar as well.

My Parfianka are damn near ripe here in Fresno CA as well. Was going to wait for 1 to crack before I pulled them, but now you got me wanting to do it now ;)

My Parfianka in Detroit. By November a few of these will be ripe for harvest. Everyone says pomegranates don't grow well in containers. That's just not true

Looks great! Congrats!
Please update with ripe fruit photos. If the figs are any indicators, the taste of container grown to in ground is about 1:10 . So if you like yours this year, think about the improvements!

I'll do that!

Really? All I've ever tasted are container figs. In fact, all the guys here grow their figs in containers haha. I didn't realize there was a difference. I completely agree with pomegranates though. I would imagine it's way less maintenance too. When I move I plan to trial some of these in ground. By next year I'll be up to about 150 varieties so there will be a lot to trial lol

Yes, I have a few container figs but consider them as survivors, lol. They are like wild horses, they like to be in the wild (or at least in the ground).
150 pom varieties sounds a bit overboard :)
It takes about 3 years for a cutting to start producing, so you will have 450 pom years ahead of you!
